What did you do?

At the beginning of the lesson, we were doing a reminder of the days when the groups will have to do the exposition. We were also talking to summarized what is the EPEL that we were working on the previous day.
We finally started with the unit 2, we were working on what a syllabus is, in the timing, in syllabus elements, etc. To finalize the lesson, we were asked to read at home the document of the key competences, but we especially had to read on how to assess the key competences.

What did you learn?

About the EPEL what we could learn it was that the main objectives are:
  •         It reflects what level we have in each language we speak.
  •         It shows our objectives for the future.
  •         We can explain how we learn a language in the school but also out of the school.
  •     We can write in the EPEL how you have been taught by the teachers. The good points and the bad points.

We also learnt that a syllabus has different levels of concretions, starting from:                                   The syllabus → Didactic unit → Lessons.
Other of the other things that we learnt that day is, that one of the most important thing in a syllabus and we can not forget is to pay attention to diversity and to prepare extracurricular activities.

What is your opinion?

We were discussing about what we thought was better if a rural school or an urban one. I think everyone has their positive and negative things. For instance, in a rural school there are less student per class. So, normally there are 2 grades for classroom which make that the younger students can learn of the oldest ones. As well, if there are less students per class the teacher can make the lessons more practical. And having the countryside close, they can go often out and be directly in contact with the environment. In the other hand, in an urban school they have a lot of cultural things very close like museums, theatres, cinemas, etc. so they could go there often.

Other of the things that we were talking in class, is the relationship between the staff in the school. If we do not like how a teacher works, we can suggest how to improve but always in a kindly way. But, the most important would be that the teacher staff should work together, share ideas, make and prepare activities together, be part of the group.
